1967 Alfa Romeo TZ2 - Car number 105 11 AR 750-117

An adaptation of a model for NFS4 - from the original readme:

Merci Ema, Marcus, Cerberus and Remko. (http://www.kcendra.com/nfsbolide)

This is my first effort at creating a RACER car model. The NFS files were expanded using the NFS Wizard program v0.5.0.79 (http://nfstoolbox.suckosaurus.dk/download.phtml)

ZModeler v1.07a (http://www.zmodeler.com) was used to modify various meshes and convert them to RACER dof-format files.

Gauges were made using existing TZ2 model graphics. Both external and internal instruments work and are accurate to +/- 4 %.

The car.ini is original for this model with pacejka data "borrowed and tweaked" from various other examples existing in RACER.

The torque curve is an approximation of what I think this car might want. The engine data is based on the Alfa Romeo TZ2 twin-spark 1600 modified racing engine.

Suspension and performance figures are basically guess work and trial & error. This model will briefly approach 1.3 g cornering before breaking loose. Bear in mind that it only weighs 620 kg. That's less than 1400 pounds!

Color options include the basic Alfa Romeo red, a light blue which approximates a car that I have seen on a local race track, the reddish-orange color mainly because I happen to like it. It is close to another TZ2 I once saw at the Pebble Beach Concours. Body colors are simply changed via the car.shd file.

The wheel textures are the thoughtful contribution from Ro80, using his modeling talents to create new wheels for this model. Thank you, Rob!

Finally, my own shaders.

It's been a trying time but great fun now that it's all finally working. The tweaking will probably never end. I keep finding little things to deal with. Especially in the handling at high speed. This model, like the real car it imitates, will do 160 mph or just over 260 k/h. And all that from a 1600cc engine!

Two documents are included with this archive, both gleaned from various Internet sources.
They cover the car's history as well as its racing history, for the period of 1965 - 67, the Alfa Romeo TZ2 World Manufacturers Championship races.
