HISTORICAL BACKROUND

The Citron H-series van was introduced in 1947, replacing the TUB model which had been in production since 1939. The success
of the new design revolved around several revolutionary ideas. The vehicle was designed around the concept of le cube utile
(the useful cube), and the combination of traction avant (front wheel drive) and monocoque (chassis-less) construction
enabled the provision of a remarkably low floor line, something not even bettered by the modern Ford Transit.

The majority of these vans were built in France, first at Javel and then, from 1975, at Alnay-sous-Bois. Some were also built
at Forest in Belgium (1949 - 1963) and Amsterdam in Holland (1963 - 1970) which were marketed throughout the Benelux countries.
Three experimental right-hand drive models were built at the British Citron factory at Slough in the late fifties, but mass
production never took place.

The commonest type produced was the fourgon (van), although a number were later produced as plateau cabine (pickup truck),
betaillere (cattle truck) and also plateau nu (without body for other bodybuilders). These vans could be found serving any
purpose from travelling butchers to horse boxes.

The design remained remarkably consistent for such a long production run, and the basic specification was only changed when
absolutely necessary, making the vehicles look distinctly basic and old-fashioned.

After no less than 473,289 had been built, production ceased. The last of the type left the production line at the factory
in Alnay-sous-Bois in December 1981. Once ubiquitous, the numbers to be found active are now dwindling.

INFO

This model was originally created for a lowpoly contest over at smcars.net. The contest had a polylimit of 5000 triangles.
So, this means that the whole car with 4 wheels and the steering wheel is only 4952 faces. However, there were some higher
poly components designed just for Racer use. This includes the separate interior model and higher detail steering wheel.
The original lowpoly steering wheel is still used as a LOD though. The car was fully modelled in Zanoza Modeler 1.07b and
the textures and dials were made in good old Photoshop Elements 1 and Paint Shop Pro 7.

The ini was created by Miura, which basically means it is brilliant. The engine specifications are roughly based on the
older gasoline powered version of this car. Weight and dimensions are all real.

THE PSD'S

The body.psd - and the interior.psd -files have been tested in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7
The files MAY still work in some other image editing programs.
These files were made as simple as possible to use, everything you are supposed to do is to edit the color layers only
and leave the others alone. You can also add some "stickers" on the car by adding more layers but that's obvious.
When you're done with your custom color or paintjob, click "Copy Merged" and paste the stuff into some copy of the
original texture as otherwise you will lose your alpha channel which is going to result either the reflections messing up
or transparency gone.
Note that both the interior and exterior components have body-colored components, so in case you change the exterior color,
you might want to do the same for the interior.

COPYRIGHT STUFF

The models were locked for a reason. The reason is that I dont want any unauthorized conversions of this car.
So if you'd like to convert the car for some other game, I'd be more than happy to let you do so if you just mail me and
ask for the models and permission. If you somehow manage to get the models unlocked on your own and convert this into some
other game, I'd still love to know about that.
Oh, and you are free to host this car on your server if you want to. Just keep this readme in the package.
