Despite a somewhat unfinished state, we decided to release the vehicle as is. Since the beta release a lot of real world data was found and used for the performance files, the body mesh was repositioned to avoid CoG offset bugs, needle indicators for the interior dials were added and a basic Cg shader file included. There are still elements that are incomplete or missing altogether, but that shouldn't take away from the driving too much for now.

The car.ini file contains a number of preset options for your convenience. You can open the file with a text editor of your choice. Most relevant for your experience is the steer.linearity setting that you should adjust for your particular controller lock range. Also, if you don't care much for high force feedback shaking your desk to pieces during offroading, you can change the car.ff_factor line to lower or disable the forces.

By default, the Hummer is running in the high gear range and with no differentials locked. You can however change to the low gear range and lock the differential manually (Racer only supports a single differential currently). To do this, open car.ini and scroll down to the differential section, where you can find the relevant lines. Simply exchange the semi-colons [;] in front of the "ratio=" lines, then scroll further down to the wheel section and do the same with the "power_gearing=" lines, to adjust the fake AWD torque being sent to front wheels accordingly.
The differential lock state can be changed via the "type=" lines in the differential section, "0" being open, "4" being locked.

Now get wheelin' ;)
